Wildlife Tour of Gujarat
Day 01/ Ahmedabad-Arrival
On arrival at Ahmedabad airport, you would be received and transferred to the hotel. Rest of the time is kept free at your discretions. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 02/ Ahmedabad-Dasada
In the morning leave Ahmedabad for Dasada. Arrive at Dasada, check in to the hotel. Later take a jungle safari in the Little Rann of Kutch, a last home of Asiatic endangered Wild Ass. Other Mammals at Wild Ass Sanctuary are Chinkara, Nilgai, the foxes, Jungle Cat and the wolf etc. Stay overnight at the jungle resort at Dasada.
Day 03/ Dasada (Little Rann of Kutch)
In the morning take a safari towards the elevated scraps in the sanctuary. In winter here one can see the bustard of McQueen, booted eagle, buzzard of white and common eye and eagle etc. In the afternoon take visit of Nawa Talao (lake) here one can spot demoiselle and cranes in the winter. Stay overnight at Dasada.
Day 04/ Dasada-Bhuj (267 KMS)
Today depart Dasada for Bhuj passing through nice wet and dry lands of bird habitats. Arrive at Bhuj, check in to the hotel.
Day 05/ Bhuj-Moti Virani (52 KMS)
After breakfast, transfer by surface to Moti Virani. On arrival, check in to a camp. Later take a tour of the Grey Hypoculius branch in Fulay. There are only some sites there Grey Hypoculius bird can be spotted at India. Stay overnight at the camp.
Day 06/ Moti Virani-Banni Grasslands-Moti Virani
Today take a day return excursion to Banni Grasslands one of the largest grasslands in India. Banni Grassland is one of the prominent bird watching areas with a rich Aquila & other eagle’s concentration. Stay overnight at the camp at Moti Virani.
Day 07/ Moti Virani-Lala Bustard Sanctuary-Moti Virani
Visit the famous Indian Bustard Sanctuary close to Naliya. The grasslands out here are the habitat of Indian bustard which is endangered and various other birds. Indian wolf and Chinkaras may also be seen here.
Day 08/ Moti Virani-Mandvi
In the morning drive to Mandvi, check in to the hotel. Later take a birding tour of the coastal areas. Rest of the time is kept free to relax at the beautiful beaches of Mandvi. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 09/ Mandvi-Jamnagar (350 KMS)
Have leisurely breakfast and reach to Jamnagar. Arrive at Jamnagar, check in to the hotel. Later take an excursion to the Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary. Here the possibility of seeing the Indian skimmer is quite high. Apart from this you may see the grebe of great-crested, stork of black necked and Caspian tern etc. Stay overnight at Jamnagar.
Day 10/ Jamnagar
Take a birding tour along with the Gulf of Kutch - it is one of the good stretches for birding. The major bird species could be seen out here are Kentish plover, crab-plover, ruddy turnstone, broad-billed sandpiper, oystercatcher and other variety of birds.
Day 11/ Jamnagar-Gondal
Today depart Jamnagar for historical place Gondal. Check in to the heritage hotel. Later take a birding tour of the grassland to see various birds. Stay overnight at the hotel in Gondal.
Day 12/ Gondal-Gir National Park
After having breakfast, drive to Gir National Park – the last home of the highly endangered Asiatic Lion. Arrive at Gir, check in to the hotel. Later take a tour of interpretation zone through a mini bus. It is a cross section enclosed of the habitants at Gir. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 13/ Gir
Today visit the Gir National Park twice in the day to track the king of the jungle Lion and other wildlife. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 14/ Gir-Velavadar-Bhavnagar
Morning depart Gir and transfer to Bhavnagar. Stop on the way to visit Velavadar National Park to see the blackbucks, Jackal, Indian Fox and Jungle Cat etc. Stay overnight at Bhavnagar.
Day 15/ Bhavnagar-Mumbai-Departure
In the morning take a birding watching tour at the areas of port, Victoria Park and lakes in Bhavnagar. Later transfer to the airport to board the onward journey. The tour ends.
